When you imagine a log home or a log cabin, you may assume that the walls will be composed of logs stacked on top of each other. However, this is not always true. Post and beam log homes utilize the same logs to create the skeleton of the home, while the walls are conventionally framed or use SIPs.
The Truckee design was conceived using this log post and beam construction method, but it still possesses the spirit and charm of a full log home. This floor plan can also be modified to have full log walls or to use timber frame.
This popular single level log cabin floor plan separates the private spaces of the home from the public areas with a hallway. An open patio, accessible from the great room and the master suite, completes this rustic log cabin design.
